Our Values...

Our Venture...
We are an intimate, and vibrant community of individuals and families called by the Lord to join Him in His important work, sharing the gospel with our lost neighbors, thereby working to accomplish the Great Commission. At Cornerstone, our vision is to be "A community of disciples making disciples." In our venture to accomplish this vision, there are many avenues through which we grow as disciples and make other disciples. We offer many opportunities to study God's Word, grow spiritually, and to serve our Lord at Cornerstone:
Worship
At Cornerstone you'll find a blended style of music--praise songs of the 70's and 80's performed on electric piano, and amplified acoustic guitar. We combine the great hymns of the faith with sound lyrics of dogmatic theology with the contemporary Christian music that honors the Lord, tunes that keep you humming and worshiping our Lord all week long. So, come to service prepared to participate in worshiping our Risen Lord!

Bible Studies:
We are committed to:
- The centrality of Jesus Christ-- we focus on Christ, His model and teachings, as the basis for our conduct,
relationships, decision-making and leadership style.
- Prayer-- we demonstrate our dependence on the Lord Jesus by making prayer a priority,
both personally in our daily schedules, and collectively on a weekly basis.
- The family-- we will make the spiritual health of our families a priority through mutual encouragement
and accountability. Furthermore, we teach and share Christ's design for the family members
in the ongoing life of the church.
- The church as community-- we make "community" a living reality in our body through active involvement in each
other's lives, making needs known and skills available to one another.
- A congregational government-- we seek to make every member of the body feel part of the decision-making process.
Whenever appropriate, decisions are based on direct input from the body.
- Building the Kingdom through Evangelism-- we seek to equip every believer to clearly and logically defend their faith in Christ.
We encourage every believer to joyfully share their faith as a lifestyle.
- Discipleship-- we seek to involve every believer in a process of personal growth and spiritual maturity
through discipleship with one another. As each believer is discipled,
he or she should grow, in both maturity and vision, such that each will commit
to discipling still others. Thus, as our local body grows, we may
"present every man mature in Christ." (Col. 1:28).
- Church planting-- we believe that smaller, community-based churches can more effectively fulfill
the Great Commission mandate to make disciples. Therefore, we are committed
to planting and nurturing new neighborhood churches under God's direction.
- Missions-- we seek to fulfill Christ's purpose for His church, to spread the Good News
and make disciples, beginning in our community and extending to the people
groups throughout the earth.
- A blended style of worship-- we worship God through a combination of both traditional and contemporary styles.
Our teaching is Bible-centered, and has sufficient content for the benefit of both
new and mature believers. Our music is God-honoring as we express the great truths
of Scripture in "psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs." (Col 3:16)
- Leadership-- we affirm that the true essence of spiritual leadership is servant leadership.
The objective of our leadership in the body is to serve, not to lord over the body.
Our leaders follow Christ's example of shepherding, guiding, and instructing the flock.

- We operate Cornerstone Christian Academy, a home school umbrella group that provides a broad range of academic-related services for Christian home schooling couples and their children.
- Some of our members are actively involved in courses teaching about the fundamentals of freedom. Our rights come from God, liberties are supposed to be protected by the civil government. At Institute on the Constitution you can take courses on the US Constitution, The Maryland State Constitution, the Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers, and how to be an informed Juror. The message of Liberty dovetails closely with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ--for once you've been freed from your sin, then there is nothing that should prevent you from attaining God's very best will for your life--what the founder's called "the pursuit of happiness."
